The Deal

The Sacramento Business Journal says cooking with Napoli Culinary Academy founder Hassi Sadri is "learning the hospitality industry" as he shares his years of experience, from being a cooking instructor at the academy to participating as a judge at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas. For $49 per person, follow Chef Sadri and learn how to cook a three-course international, Persian or Italian dinner. Regularly $110, these hands-on gourmet cooking courses also include a paired glass of wine per course.

Sadri has worked in restaurants all over the world, but his love for teaching led him to open the Napoli Culinary Academy. With this Local Deal, select from the following classes:

• International -- courses include Boston clam chowder, chardonnay-stuffed asparagus turkey meatloaf with roasted red potatoes, and a peach flambé with ice cream

• Persian -- courses include Persian meatball soup, chicken kabob in yogurt saffron, and baklava with honey walnuts and pistachio

• Italian -- courses include cream of broccoli and Parmesan soup, chicken Marcela over penne pesto pasta and sundried tomatoes, and cannolis

• For $69 per person, upgrade to a five-course cooking class, with options to prepare Italian/Mediterranean, Persian or French/Mediterranean meals, paired with one glass of wine ($150 value)

• For $39 per person, join the pizza-making class and learn to how to make and stretch dough from scratch, plus create calzones, strombolis, garlic rolls and more, all complemented by Italian beer; the student with the best-tasting pizza and presentation will be entered into the final competition at the end of the month with the overall winner awarded a $3,000 scholarship toward the Napoli Culinary Arts Management Program ($100 value)

Vouchers can be redeemed starting Tuesday, May 22, through Nov. 22, 2012. Reservations are required and must be made at least 24 hours in advance, preferably by e-mail. Must be used in 1 visit. Gratuity is not included; an 18-20% service charge including gratuity will be charged upon arrival (based on the price of the voucher). This deal cannot be combined with any other offer. A 48-hour cancellation policy applies; voucher is subject to forfeiture. Must be of legal drinking age to consume alcohol. A minimum of 4 students is required for classes to take place.
