- For $35 per person (reg. $70), go to the Basic Falconry Lesson I class, where you'll get 60 minutes of instruction and history on falconry, including learning how to "cast," which entails holding a hawk, casting it from your glove and calling it back again
For $29 per person (reg. $60), attend an Owl Encounter, where for an hour you'll get up close to Cailleach, a Eurasian Eagle Owl -- the largest species of owl on the planet -- then watch the trainers take her through exercises and get a photo taken
The fine print
Update: Due to weather, falconry classes are available only at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. until October. Phone reservations are required; subject to availability; the venue is closed Wednesdays and Thursdays and open by appointment Friday-Monday. Weekends book very quickly so please try to make a reservation well in advance of your desired date. A 48-hour cancellation policy applies. Must be at least 7 years old to participate in the Basic Falconry I class. Observer or non-participant fee is half the cost of the promotional fee for the Basic Falconry I class.
