The Deal

The thrilling rapids of the American River await with this Local Deal from Gold Rush Whitewater Rafting, which earns an impressive 4.5-star rating on Yelp. For $59 per person, take a half-day rafting trip on the Upper Fork, regularly $118.

The nine-mile Chili Bar run starts at 9 a.m. upriver from camp and takes adventurists through a number of Class III rapids including the Meat Grinder and Troublemaker. The trip tames down over Class II rapids through Marshall Gold Discovery State Park and ends at camp around 1 p.m.

Rafters can choose to spend all day on the water with the full-day, 21-mile trip for $109 per person, which travels across both the Upper and Lower Forks of the American River and includes a barbecue lunch at the halfway point. This package is regularly $205 and runs from 9 a.m. to about 6 p.m.
