"Jesus Christ Superstar," the famous rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, is coming to Pittsburgh with tickets for half off. The musical has won six Tony Award nominations since it opened on Broadway in 1971.

Orchestra and First Tier seats are discounted to $21.75-$30.75 (regularly $42.75-$60.75) for the following performances at the Benedum Center:

• Tuesday, Aug. 2 at 8 p.m.
• Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 8 p.m.
• Thursday, Aug. 4 at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.
• Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 8 p.m.
• Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 8 p.m
• Thursday, Aug. 11 at 8 p.m.

With a powerful soundtrack written by Webber and Rice, "Jesus Christ Superstar" blends modern rock with the biblical story of Jesus Christ during the last days of his life.
