Take to the skies over Princeton and catch a glimpse of New York City, Philadelphia and the Atlantic Ocean with this Local Deal that puts you behind the controls of a Cessna 172. For $59, regularly $99, take a flight lesson with the talented team of instructors at the Raritan Valley Flight School.

For more than 30 years, the Raritan Valley Flight School has been teaching novice pilots the skills they need to take flight. Based out of the 101-year-old Princeton Airport, each 40-minute lesson begins with 10 minutes of instruction and preflight checks with an instructor who teaches students about the various components of the aircraft.

After climbing into the cockpit, students assist their instructors as they taxi down the runway and lift off for 30 minutes of hands-on training. Each student will also get the chance to fully take control of the aircraft and perform the maneuvers they've learned before the instructor brings the plane back to the runway for a safe landing.

For even more time aloft, opt for an 80-minute lesson that gives you more time behind the controls for $125, regularly $179.

Reservations are required and must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Early reservations are recommended, as the most popular dates fill up quickly.
