The Deal

Posch Restaurant in Irvine is the newest creation of restauranteur and chef Jimmy Z, the man behind Forty Carrots, Garden Bistro and Jimmy Z Bar & Grill. It opened last May with a focus on contemporary French-Mediterranean cuisine, which Travelzoo subscribers can try for themselves with this exclusive Local Deal. For $49, regularly $104, get a three-course dinner for two and wine at this very posh eatery.

The sprawling, 12,000-square-foot restaurant is separated into different dining rooms with distinct aesthetics, such as a wood-framed room with an exposed wine cellar and fireplace. Choose your seat and select:

• Two appetizers, such as fried steak calamari with sweet and spicy ginger sauce, and the mixed seafood ceviche (up to $9)

• Two entrees selected from:
- Wild honey-glazed skirt steak with saffron rice, steamed baby spinach and organic wild honey teriyaki glaze
- Pan-fried whole Idaho trout with saffron basmati, roasted sliced almonds and mustard lime dill sauce
- Grilled honey chicken with saffron rice, grilled seasoned vegetables and wild organic honey Dijon sauce
- Blackened chicken fettuccine Alfredo with a light creamy garlic and wine sauce and shredded Parmesan
- Jimmy Z’s spaghetti Bolognese with seasoned and sauteed ground sirloin, basil, wine and his signature marinara sauce

• A shared dessert of the day, such as homemade bread pudding

• Two coffees, teas or lattes (up to $4.50 each)

• Two glasses of house wine, such as a chardonnay or cabernet

Or, for $25, get a three-course lunch (without wine) that includes a shared appetizer (up to $9), two main courses, salads or sandwiches (up to $14 each), a shared dessert of the day, and two sodas or teas. The lunch is valued at $52.20.
