The Deal

Zagat calls Philippe Chow "sexy" and rates the cuisine at this upscale Chinese bistro on the Upper East Side "very good to excellent" (23), and Gayot describes it as "contemporary" and "chic." With this Local Deal, a chef's tasting dinner for two people is $95, regularly $170. Or for $180, four people receive the same deal at an even greater discount, regularly $340.

This deal is valid for the Chef Chow's Tasting Menu, which normally requires a six-person minimum. Examples of items in this five-course meal include:

• Spring rolls with the restaurant's Peking duck, which Huffington Post calls "luscious, succulent, superb"

• Chef Chow's lettuce wraps and satays

• Entrees like Beijing chicken, filet mignon or American black bass

• Crispy seaweed

• Fried rice
