Sunday, March 24, marks the inaugural Tasting New York event, a food celebration presented by Resident Magazine and the Flatiron Hotel. For half the regular price, Travelzoo subscribers can spend the afternoon sampling dishes from top-rated restaurants and listening to live music.

With this $39 Local Deal for a general admission ticket (reg. $80), explore the Flatiron Hotel's lounge, mezzanine and penthouse -- with a view of the Empire State Building -- while sipping unlimited draft beer and tasting samples from 15 participating restaurants, such as:

The event, from 1-5 p.m., will be hosted by Fox 5's Ernie Anastos with musical performances by Hunter Ryan Herdlicka ("A Little Night Music") and Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin, as well as a cooking demonstration by Claire Thomas.
