The Deal

Hilltown Wilderness Adventures owner Marla BB and her team of Alaskan Husky racing dogs have been featured on Animal Planet and PBS-affiliate WGBY. Head to DAR State Forest to spend a day in the life of a professional dog musher. For $149, regularly $365, one person can go on a three-hour dogsledding adventure that includes:

• Small group mushing lesson (up to 10 people), including tips for harnessing and handling the dogs and the history of mushing

• Meet and greet, playtime and feeding with the Hilltown Wilderness Adventures Iditarod racing dogs

• Private dogsled drive through the forest, where you get the chance to drive your own two- to three-dog team following the lead of a professional musher

• Cup of hot cocoa

Lessons are available by appointment until March 31. If there is no snow, lessons and rides will take place over dry land.

Vouchers can be redeemed starting Friday, Jan. 11, through March 24, 2013. Reservations are required and subject to availability. Voucher is subject to forfeiture if you cancel or reschedule your reservation with less than 48 hours' notice. Limited availability on major holidays or holiday weekends. Must be at least 16 years old, under 250 pounds and in healthy physical condition to participate. Subject to weather conditions.
