The Deal

Schedule a summer wine trip or see a working vineyard during harvest season with this Local Deal for Goose Lake Farm & Winery near Elk River. For $21, regularly $44.20, two people receive eight wine tastings, a glass of sparkling rosé plus a homemade chocolate Thursdays-Sundays.

When visiting this winery, which grows grape varietals developed at the University of Minnesota and produces more than 40 varieties of wine, each person receives:

• Eight tastings plus a take-home glass

• One glass of Sunrise Sparkling Rosé, a light, semi-sweet blend

• One handmade chocolate from Bear Paw Chocolates in Elk River

The winery hosts an artisan farmers markets on Saturdays and Sundays with 15-30 vendors. All wine is available for purchase; buy 12 bottles and receive one free. This 70-acre working farm, home to chickens, ducks, horses and llamas, produces all of its own fruit and grapes and is pesticide free.
