$55 - Zagat-Praised Italian Dinner for 2 w/$44 Wine Credit

The Deal

Zagat rates the Italian-influenced cuisine at Stecchino "very good to excellent" (24) and calls the drinks "delightfully different." For $55, regularly $112, Travelzoo subscribers can have dinner for two with drinks at this Hell's Kitchen gem.

With antique tin-molded ceilings accented with mahogany paneling, Stecchino provides a pre-Prohibition era setting. Take a seat and try chef Jose Hernandez's menu that features "sophisticated comfort food" according to the New York Daily News for a meal that includes:

• Choice of two appetizers, such as mussels with pancetta served with grilled Tuscan toast; bruschetta with fresh whipped ricotta, spicy caponata and white-bean puree; or calamari served with citrus rosemary mayo (up to $12 each)

Stecchino is Italian for toothpick, which was a nickname given to owner Phil Alotta as a kid growing up in the Italian section of Brooklyn.
