The Deal

Shecky's praises the tapas selections at The Gastro Bar at 35th and says this "hot spot is the perfect pre-game for a night on the town." For $39, regularly $95, two can share a selection of small plates and a pitcher of sangria at this new restaurant in the TRYP New York City Times Square South hotel.

Take a seat in the contemporary dining room that Zagat calls "stylish" and "brimming with energy" and sip a pitcher of sangria while dining on five selections from an exclusive menu, such as:

• Manchego cheese, Mushroom or jamon serrano croquetas
• Gambas al ajillo (shrimp sauteed in garlic sauce)
• Pan con tomate, which features artisan bread topped with tomato, olive oil and garlic
• Patatas bravas, made with baby Yukon gold potatoes with a mildly spicy salsa brava aioli
• The charcuterie and cheese platter featuring thin slices of jamon serrano, Spanish chorizo and salchichon, served with olives and a chef's selection of cheeses
