The Deal

Zagat says that Chez Jacqueline in Greenwich Village has "stood the test of time" with its elegant French fare (20) and old-fashioned bistro style, and New York Magazine praises its "steadfast charm" and "cozy romance" with brick walls and flower-adorned windowsills. For $69, two can linger over a three-course dinner with wine, regularly $179.

New York Magazine says the cuisine "evokes the South of France," and with this deal, guests receive a choice of anything from the menu, like:

• Two appetizers, with choices like mussels marinated in white wine, olive tapenade or crab cakes (up to $19 each)

• Two entrees, such as roasted chicken with fresh summer squash and tomatoes, braised pork shoulder with garlic confit and grilled hangar steak with peppercorn or mustard sauce (up to $29 each)

•Two desserts, with selections like classic creme brulee, lemon tart with sorbet and the assorted cheese platter (up to $14 each)

• A bottle of red or white wine, such as 2010 Nicolas Reserve Pinot Grigio (Venice, Italy) and 2010 Domaine Violon (Cotes du Rhone) (up to $39)

• Two glasses of dessert wine (up to $8 each)
