$99 - Sushi-Making Class for 2 w/Dinner & Drinks, Reg. $200

The Deal

Travelzoo subscribers will learn to prepare their own sushi with this Local Deal from Sushi by Simon. Students will create and enjoy sushi and drinks during this 2.5-hour class for $99 for two people, regularly $200.

When we took this class, we liked the small class size, fresh ingredients and lively classroom-kitchen vibe. Experience this deal that includes:

• An introduction to the history of sushi given by owner Simon Feil and his team of instructors, including the origin of sushi, its progression in cultural popularity and the different types

• Instruction to proper rolling techniques including traditional maki and ura maki (inside out) rolls

• Ingredients to create four sushi rolls, like basic tuna maki, to be enjoyed during the lesson; work with tuna, salmon, avocado and cucumber

• Four drinks, like glasses of wine, beers or house spirits

• A bamboo rolling mat to take home after the class

Class size is limited to about 12-25 couples each session for a personalized experience. The classroom kitchens are located at Central Bar (109 E. 9th St.) and Stone Creek (140 E. 27th St.) Classes are date specific and take place at 3 p.m. or 7 p.m..
