The open view and food presentation

Nice ambiance, great service and delicious sushi. My daughter was visiting from out of town and we both enjoyed Takami quite a lot and would recommend it to others. Our sushi rolls were creative, fresh and really good and our drinks were refreshing and original. All good!

The view was really nice!

Service was slow when the restaurant wasn't all that busy, check was wrong, the wrong dessert was brought out. It seemed a bit overpriced ($6.50 for a pot of tea), and there wasn't much of a selection for someone like me with a wheat allergy. Usually at a sushi restaurant I can get quite a bit, or the kitchen is happy to make something wheat-free that might not normally be so. They were not willing to do so here, and even the things that seem like they shouldn't have soy sauce (has wheat) in them and it isn't listed in the ingredients, did. Thankfully the waitress checked these. In the end, all I could have was the Robata, which seemed more like a bunch of appetizer skewers. My husband had one of their "signature" dishes, which was priced accordingly and was just a bunch of sliced yellowtail arranged on a plate -- certainly not $17 worth. We left disappointed and hungry.

The view was great and was what I felt I was paying for.

Maybe it's just my standards, but at such high prices, I expected to experience something I hadn't before compared to the lower priced sushi I have on about a weekly basis. Although prepared well, and with the exception of the Miso Chilean Sea Bass, the high priced food at Takami Sushi was well below the tastes of more reasonably priced sushi which left me feeling pretty frustrated. Again, it may only be me, but I just feel when prices are considerably higher than competition, your main product will represent that higher price. I'd like to leave there saying "I'd go there again for my birthday." But then again, I've never had negative comments about the locations recommended by Travelzoo before.
