The Deal

Chef Juan Mondragon has cultivated a Hollywood following for his authentic pre-Hispanic Mexican dishes, fare Zagat says makes his Juan's Restaurante "stand apart." The menu is predominated by flavors of the Aztecs and Mayans and emphasizes organic ingredients. With this deal, select:

• An appetizer to share, such as Monterey cheese queso fundido (melted with choice of chorizo, shrimp or chile poblano strips) or empanadas with cactus masa, melted cheese and squash blossom

• Two entrees (up to $16 each), such as the chef's specialty mole dishes (like Mancha Manteles, spicy mole sauce from a unique blend of Oaxacan chiles over grilled chicken breast) or the signature house dish: Chiles en Nogada (organic dried fruit and diced filet mignon topped with a unique walnut sauce and pomegranate seeds)
