When I called the next day to complain, the manager was very nice and sympathetic. Both he and the assistant manager (later conversation) wanted to and took steps to make things better, which I greatly appreciated. Btw, I have visited the Hollywood location and had a wonderful experience there.

Downtown location: We were given the wrong voucher service (Groupon vs Travelzoo). The server tried, I assume, to be friendly, but came across as condescending. At the end of our visit, he made another awkward stab at trying to be friendly, but instead made a rude and insulting comment. Maybe because they were overbooked with all the vouchers, the service was unbalanced - no tea or water until after our appetizer was eaten and our food tier had been delivered and, even then, we had to ask for water. Request for vegetarian items were verbally acknowledged, then ignored when the food was actually delivered. (They did fix the problem right away) Questions we asked about the food and/or tea went unanswered with what amounted to an attitude of "you'll get what you get - just eat/drink it." Overall, the service ruined the entire experience.

Our server was really knowledgeable about teas, and attentive

The food- sandwiches were dry and stale, there were little flies that were constantly picking at our food. Told server I was allergic to chicken, but still served us chicken salad sandwiches
