Learn how to fly with this $99 Local Deal for a 30-minute, hands-on private flying lesson and scenic tour of LA landmarks with ALG Aviation. Travelzoo subscribers save $150 on this experience, which also includes ground instruction to get familiar with the controls before taking to the skies.

Meet your instructor at the aircraft at Van Nuys Airport for a 20-minute ground session, which will explain the route of flight and the processes and procedures used to fly the aircraft. Then, settle into the pilot seat for the flight lesson lasting approximately 30 minutes.

During this hands-on experience, you will be able to follow through on control inputs while the pilot explains the philosophy behind what makes an aircraft fly and the reasoning for control inputs as they occur.

The scenic route takes you over iconic landmarks including the Hollywood sign, downtown LA, the Malibu coastline and Santa Monica Pier.
