The Deal

Set out into the Pacific for an exciting whale-watching excursion with Harbor Breeze Cruises of Long Beach. For $29, two people can spend 2.5 hours watching for gray whales, dolphins, sea lions and more, regularly $60.

A naturalist guide from the Aquarium of the Pacific narrates the tour, talking about the sea life in the area and pointing out the whales that may pass by the ship. This time of year is best for spotting gray whales as they migrate from Alaska to Mexico. Both educational and entertaining, this cruise allows people to learn about the history of Long Beach, while keeping watch for whales along the way.

One of the boats, The Christopher, has been specially designed for whale watching, with stadium seating on the top deck. On the way out to open water, watch as the tour passes the Queen Mary. It is recommended to wear layers as the top deck can get breezy.
