The Deal

Check in for a one-night stay any day through August for $99 (regularly $149), including weekends. Guests can park the car for free, start the day with a complimentary continental breakfast, build an itinerary using the free Wi-Fi, and then wind down with an evening wine and cheese reception (Tuesday-Thursday only).

This deal includes two tickets to a trolley tour led by a St. Simons native (regularly $40). Riders trundle past some of the island's top historic sites, from the gleaming white 1870s lighthouse that towers 104 feet in the air, to Fort Frederica, a 1736 rampart used to defend then British-owned South Carolina from Spanish-owned Florida. Trolley tickets may also be exchanged for the ghost tour, dolphin tour or a 90-minute sunset cruise.

Fresh seafood is served in the upscale restaurants along the village's main streets. For an even fresher catch, head to the St. Simons Island Pier where you can rent baskets and hooks to draw in your own crabs and fish. Kayaks and sailboats are also available for plying through the island's marshes and along its sand-duned beaches.
