Escape to a tropical paradise with this Costa Rica beach getaway that includes one horseback ride for two along the beach and through the jungle. This exclusively negotiated three-night deal at the Tango Mar Beach Hotel & Golf Resort costs $469 per couple (regularly $746) for a beachfront room or tropical suite with a Jacuzzi tub. The deal also includes daily breakfast for two.

As part of a 150-acre private reserve on the Pacific Coast's Nicoya Peninsula, the resort boasts a "gorgeous setting" and "lots of activity options," according to Fodor's. Snorkeling, hiking, tennis and golf are among the ways to spend the days. Plus this tropical setting is known for pristine beaches with nesting sea turtles and for a lush jungle that's prime for bird watching.

Cap off the "pura vida" experience -- a common Spanish phrase used by Costa Ricans meaning "full of life" -- with a treatment at the spa or a yoga class (additional fees apply).

Getting there: There are two main ways to get to the resort. First, fly to San Jose's international airport, then drive to Puntarenas, take a ferry to Paquera and drive to the resort. The second option is to fly from San Jose to Tambor's airport, and drive or take a shuttle ($10 per person each way) to the resort.
