The Deal

For $15, spend the day strolling through historic Sam Houston Park while sipping international wines at the inaugural Houston Wine Fest. On Saturday, Sept. 25 or Sunday, Sept. 26, select from 200 vintages from more than 15 wineries. This admission package -- valued at $35 -- includes five tasting tickets, a commemorative tote and wine glass, and a park map.
The featured vineyards are based in Texas as well as France, Italy, Spain, Australia, Brazil, South Africa and California. Though not included in this package, also taste fare from about 20 local restaurants such as Pradaria Brazilian Steak House and Chocolate Truffle Shuffle. Grab a blanket and lounge in the park while listening to live musical performances, including cover bands, a saxophonist, violinist, 12-piece orchestra and salsa band.
