McGrail Vineyards and Winery in Livermore recently took home two gold medals in the 2011 Indy International Wine Competition and was named the Best Livermore Winery by the San Francisco A List. Stretched out over 16 acres with a picturesque hillside location atop Greenville Road, this family-owned winery offers Travelzoo subscribers:

• 60-minute tour of the vineyard and winery with six tastings each: Start in the tasting room behind the barrel room before slipping out to the vineyard with expansive views of the property, while the wine experts speak about the winery and area's history; loop back to the crush pad, and lastly to the barrel room for sit-down tastings

• Gold medal-winning bottle of wine, choice of the 2008 McGrail Vineyards Cabernet Reserve or 2009 McGrail Family Chardonnay, which can be taken home or enjoyed at the winery
