The Deal

On the shores of Lake Erie in Huron, Ohio, a romantic retreat for two beckons guests to a lakefront resort for $149 per night. This package from Sawmill Creek Resort saves more than 45% on current prices and includes a half-day tour of two wineries, plus wine flights and appetizers at each site.

Arrive Sundays-Thursdays through May. Weekend stays are $169 per night, while two-night stays are also available: $249 for Sunday-Wednesday arrivals, or $269 for Thursday-Saturday arrivals.

The guided 4.5-hour tour of the two wineries takes guests to Paper Moon and Quarry Hill wineries. Visitors' palates are treated to a variety of wines from the region, from classical varietals to fruit wines (cherry, apple, blueberry) and ice wine. Paper Moon was named the area's Best Winery by Cleveland's Fox 8.

At the resort, three restaurants provide a variety of dining options, while bike rentals are available to explore the sprawling grounds. Stop by the Sawmill Creek Shops, housed in a restored barn, featuring specialty shops for apparel, books and jewelry.
