The Deal

The Chicago Reader says that "few Chicago restaurants have delivered the goods as well or for as long" as The Parthenon, a Greektown favorite the Chicago Sun-Times calls "legendary." With this deal, two can savor a Greek feast from saganaki starters to desserts of baklava for $35, regularly $69.15.

Diners can select:

• Any appetizer to share, like the classic saganaki, stuffed grape leaves or the taramosalata spread, of which the Reader says "I've never had better" (up to $9)

• Two cups of soup, like the traditional avogelemono (lemon and rice) or beef with orzo (up to $3.25 each)

• A Greek salad to share with olives, cucumbers, peppers and feta cheese

• Two entrees, like the traditional baked moussaka, roast leg of lamb with potatoes or the Athenian chicken with oregano and lemon (up to $17 each)

• Two desserts, like the baklava or tiramisu served with coffee for each diner (desserts up to $5.50 each)

Located just west of the Loop on Halsted, The Parthenon is easy to reach by public transportation and by car; the restaurant also offers complimentary valet parking.
