The Deal

One of the few public courses in the area, Highland Park Country Club is a "welcoming" course, according to Highland Park Patch, and when the Travelzoo team played it, we loved the creative and challenging layout. With this deal, hit the links for a round including cart rental, range balls and drinks for $45, regularly $83. Or, two can play for $79, regularly $166, and save more.

Warm up with a bucket of range balls on Highland Park's expansive 50-station driving range, complete with chipping station and putting green. Then take to the 18-hole, 6,600-yard, par-71 course. Each person gets an $8 beverage credit for beers or cocktails; that's enough for a beer on the course and another cold one at the clubhouse.

Travelzoo Tip: Be prepared for a challenge on the par-4, 432-yard 16th hole. Ed Sherman at Crain's Chicago Business just ranked it as one of the 10 toughest holes in the area. (Save one of your drink credits for after you hole out -- Crain's says you'll be happy to even get a bogey on this one.)
