The Deal

Take control of a stunt or military aircraft and perform turns, barrel rolls, loops and more with this deal for Gauntlet Warbirds, a flight center in Aurora. Travelzoo subscribers can embark on a customized flight experience starting at $235, which includes 40 minutes of airtime.

Choose from the following flights:

• For $235, regularly $390, book an experience in an aerobatic Extra 300L aircraft

• For $315, regularly $520, take a flight in a classic T-6 Texan, a model of aircraft used to train nearly every Allied airman who flew in WWII

The complete experience lasts approximately two hours and begins with a consultation with your pilot-instructor to discuss your preferred flight plan. Flights can be calm and scenic or acrobatic and intense, and after receiving instruction on basic maneuvers and aerobatic techniques, you'll strap on a flight suit and take to the skies.

Flights take place at the Aurora Municipal Airport just west of Sugar Grove, minutes from I-88. The pilot-instructors at Gauntlet Warbirds have thousands of hours of flight time earned through military service, airline aviation and aerobatic performance.

Travelzoo Tip: If you want to document your flight, Gauntlet Warbirds offers videos of the flight experience to take home. These videos feature a view from the front of the aircraft as well as the cockpit, including intercom transmissions, for an extra fee.

Must be 18 years old or older to participate. Must be under 6'2" to fly in 300L and 250 pounds or less to fly either plane. Must sign waiver to participate. Not valid for products.
