The Deal

Escape the city for an all-day wine festival for two with this exclusive Local Deal from Detour Winery in Keymar, Md., less than 70 miles from downtown Baltimore and Washington, D.C. For $25, regularly $50, visit the 35-acre vineyard that just opened last December and has already received awards from the 2012 Winemasters Choice and 36th International Eastern Wine Competition.

Each festival includes a vineyard tour and tastings, which may vary from five to 10 pours per person. Try wines like 2011 Crimson Glory Dry, Alpine Frost, Pear fruit wine, Passion red raspberry dessert wine or Winter Solstice ice wine. Guests are welcome to bring blankets and lounge chairs; food and beverages are available for purchase at each event.

• Summer Send Off, Saturday, Sept. 2: Featuring the Marty Knepp Trio, Matt Wigler Trio and Afro Bop Alliance, which received a Latin Grammy for Best Latin Jazz Album in 2008

• Rock and Roll Band Fest, Saturday, Sept. 29: Listen to classic songs by the Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Elvis Presley performed by bands including Back-N-Time and The Moonlighters
