Head to Yosemite National Park this spring—a place Fodor’s says that “by merely standing in Yosemite Valley and turning in a circle, you can see more natural wonders in a minute than you could in a full day pretty much anywhere else.” Travel includes summer availability.
After a day of discovering Yosemite, kick back at one of the following hotels:
Curry Village … starting from $39; includes a traditional unheated tent cabin
- Camp out below Half Dome and Glacier Point in a canvas tent in the heart of Yosemite. Tents include: an interior storage unit, chair, towels, blankets, pillows, an electric light and an exterior bear-proof storage locker. Fodor’s notes the campground is close to many activities and is family-friendly. Travel through May 9.
Wawona Hotel … starting from $153; includes a room with shared bathroom
- This historic national landmark hotel is four miles from the park’s south entrance and a 15-minute drive from the Mariposa Grove of Big Trees. Frommer’s says of this Victorian-style hotel “don't be surprised if a horse and buggy rounds the driveway by the fishpond -- it's that kind of place.” Travel through June.
