A deal slicing 40% off current hotel prices has emerged among the posh shops and restaurants of San Francisco's Nob Hill neighborhood.

The Holiday Inn Golden Gateway has dropped room rates to $89 per night through April, and cut the price of parking in half (about $20 in additional savings).

Visit in May for $169 per night and receive parking for free (about a $40 value).

The hotel has a heated rooftop pool offering panoramic city views, and all guests have free Internet access.

Grand mansions line the streets of this tony district, as do the tracks of the iconic cable cars, which cart riders over the hill to downtown museums and theaters.
