Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort, 15 minutes from the capital city of Castries, has reduced its ocean view room by 40% on current rates through April 8.

For $389 per night, upgrade to a one-bedroom 1200-square-foot suite with a Jacuzzi.

Of the 4-star resort, Frommer's wrote: "Although it's one of the largest resorts on (the) island, it nonetheless is a tranquil and luxurious retreat."

Highlights include: five pools (two for kids); free windsurfing, tube rides and kayaking; a spa; and a kids club (extra fees). Sip cocktails at one of four bars and choose from five restaurants -- which Frommer's said is more per capita than most of the resort's competitors.

Note: There will be additional charges per room, per night of 10% in service charges and 8% in government taxes.
