The Aloft hotel in downtown Brooklyn is celebrating its grand opening with a $99-per-night deal, which is one of the lowest rates in the city.
Cutting current prices by 40%, this offer is valid daily from June 12 through Aug. 31 -- peak summertime, including weekends and Fourth of July.
Taking design cues from urban lofts, this offshoot of W Hotels features rooms with king beds, flat-screen TVs, rainfall showers and free Wi-Fi. Add $10 per night for a room with two double beds that sleeps up to four.
Grab a drink in the trendy w xyz lobby bar and then head to the hip restaurants and shops that surround Fort Greene Park, just a short walk east. The Brooklyn Academy of Music is nearby as are several subway lines that go into Manhattan. Or take a scenic stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge, about 10 blocks north of the hotel.
