We found good availability on Nov. 3, 10, 17, 24 and Dec. 1-28.

The price includes a room upgrade, breakfast for two, free entry to the Egyptian Museum (worth $14/11€ per person), early check-in at 12pm and late checkout until 4pm.

Centrally located on a quiet street two blocks west of the Rambla Catalunya, this member of the Design Hotels group mixes a relaxed atmosphere with art-deco decor. The hotel is kitted out with third-century Roman mosaics and original Hindu and Buddhist ornaments, and -- remarkably for an intimate city hotel -- it has a rooftop pool and bar. The Egyptian Museum and La Pedrera, Gaudi's masterpiece on the Paseo de Gracia, are both only a 10-minute walk away.
