Just before peak-season crowds (and prices) arrive, this sale at The Fairmont Royal Pavilion saves guests $240 on regular nightly rates. In October, lounge in a room with an ocean view and private balcony for this price, or come Nov. 1 - Dec. 15 for $399 (regularly $615) a night.

Jan. 4-31 also is heavily discounted.

The exotic oceanfront resort offers unique extras, like a chance to snorkel and feed turtles (guided by a beach-staff member). Guests also get free: nonmotorized water sports like kayaks; afternoon tea and pastries; cocktails and garden tours on Wednesdays; and Internet access.

An iconic AAA 4-Diamond resort for the past 14 years, the resort reopened late last year after a multimillion-dollar renovation. It has two restaurants and free kids activities through October. For visits Nov. 1 onward, children must be at least 13 years old.
