Head for a cozy winter retreat in the Laurentians, where the prices of upscale four-bedroom chalets have been cut by as much as 55%, including during peak season at nearby ski resorts.

Nightly stays at Blueberry Lake Resort, a lakeside hideaway less than two hours from Montreal, are now:

  • $202 (CA$199) ... Sundays-Thursdays Jan. 6 - Feb. 7 & March 17-31
    Weekends & holidays are $51 (CA$50) more per night
  • $252 (CA$249) ... Sundays-Thursdays Feb. 8 - March 16
    Weekends are $101 (CA$100) more per night

A two-night minimum stay applies. For stays which include a Friday or Saturday night, a three-night minimum applies.

Tucked away within 300 acres of forest in the picturesque countryside, these log-cabin homes are 2,300 square feet, can sleep up to eight people and have full kitchens, balconies, private hot tubs and 42-inch TVs. Chalets also have a pool table or ping pong table.
