May and June are two of the best months to visit Punta Cana. These shoulder months are between the height of the tourist season and the beginning of the hurricane season. From July through December, Punta Cana experiences a much more humid climate. Punta Cana Transportation
Most tourists don't travel much within the city of Punta Cana. In fact, because of the lavishness of the coastal all-inclusive resorts, many travelers never leave their hotel's property. Those that do journey outside the vicinity of their hotels usually make transportation arrangements through a local tour company. Another option is to use a taxi. Many hotels have taxi stations on site, or you can have the front desk at your hotel call a cab. Rental cars are also available, and if you are looking for public transportation options, you can catch a local bus.
