Where to Stay in Naples
Located on the southwest coast of the Florida peninsula, Naples is a quintessential coastal city, complete with beaches, restaurants, shops and ample opportunities for aquatic fun. Search for boutique hotels along Naples Bay near the heart of the city. This area is home to several popular shopping districts, including Crayton Cove and Tin City. Many charter fishing excursions shove off from the piers located within the bay. Or compare rates at hotels near Naples Pier. The scenic pier is one of the most popular fishing spots in the city. It's also home to a long stretch of beachfront that's perfect for sunbathing. For a posh retreat, head north of downtown Naples to Venetian Bay. This swank community is home to The Village, a cluster of upscale boutiques, restaurants and lounges. Or head even farther north along Highway 45 to the hotels near Vanderbilt Beach and the Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park. These beautiful beachfronts offer visitors a relaxing place to picnic, bike, swim and snorkel. Or pamper yourself at one of the many resorts and spas on Marco Island. Located just a short drive south of Naples, Marco Island is home to a handful of championship golf courses and provides convenient access to the nearby Everglades. There are also a few inns and bed and breakfasts nestled right along the edge of southern Florida's picturesque state parks.
Naples Hotel Tips
Because of Naples' warm climate, wintertime is one of the city's high tourist seasons. Temperatures from November to February range from the mid 50s to the mid 70s. With the influx of out-of-towners, hotels often raise their rates. Likewise, because of its miles of beaches, the Spring Break season is also a pricier time to make the trek to Naples. If you're planning on visiting either season, make sure to search for hotel deals far in advance to secure the best rates.
Summer is Naples low season. Temperatures can edge close the triple digits. Meanwhile, daily rain showers are common from June through September. If you don't mind the heat, this period is one of the best seasons for budget travelers. You can frequently find cheap flights to Naples and hotel discounts. Plus, there are a handful of special events throughout the summer, including live jazz music near Naples Beach, 4th of July festivities and the annual sidewalk sale at The Village on Venetian Bay.
