Where to Stay in Denpasar
Few tourists actually stay in Denpasar. Instead, many opt to travel a few minutes south of the capital city to one of the region's many oceanside resort towns. However, budget travelers can find discount hotels in Denpasar that do not sacrifice comfort for price. In particular, most of Denpasar's lodging options are located near the city's center, Puputan Square. This ensures tourists have easy access to most of Denpasar's main attractions, including the Bali Museum and Puputan Park. If you are looking for the area's main party scene, head south to Kuta. This beach town is popular among Australian youths and is known for its great surfing waters. The village claims several shopping malls as well as an abundance of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Just a few minutes east of Kuta is Sanur. This laidback resort town is a popular destination for older travelers. With its many luxury hotels and calm white-sand beaches, it's the perfect place to get a little rest and relaxation.
Denpasar Hotel Tips
Denpasar's temperature doesn't fluctuate much throughout the year, making it a great place to visit year round. If you want to find the best Denpasar flight deals and hotel rates, you should plan your trip for April or May. These months are fairly dry and fall right before the height of the tourist season. If you don't mind facing crowds, book your trip for the month of July, August or September. During this period, many Australians head out to Denpasar's nearby resort towns for swimming and surfing. If you plan on visiting during this time, be sure to make your hotel reservations months in advance as accommodations can fill up fast. December through February can be fairly rainy, experiencing as much as 15 wet days per month. However, flight and hotel deals are abundant during this off season.
