Where to Stay in Boise

Boise is the most populous city in Idaho. With its many museums, galleries, restaurants and performance spaces, it is the cultural heart of the state. The city also boasts acres of green space and miles of walking trails, making it an ideal destination for active travelers. Whether you're looking to shop in the city's upscale BoDo district or hike up nearby Lucky Peak, Boise has a hotel for you. For those that want the cosmopolitan experience, compare rates at one of the many luxury hotels in downtown Boise. This bustling district features many boutique shops, eclectic eateries and vibrant nightlife options. In addition, many of these downtown hotels feature special amenities, such as business centers and meeting rooms, that are particularly suited for business travelers. If you want to explore Boise's many cultural attractions, search for an affordable hotel near Julia Davis Park. This expansive urban green space is home to many of the city's top attractions, including the municipal zoo, the Idaho Historical Museum and the Boise Art Museum. Boise is also home to one of the largest Basque populations in the world. If you want to experience the culture of the Basque people, book reservations at a hotel near the Basque Block, a subsection of downtown occupied by Basque shops, restaurants, bars and the Basque Museum and Cultural Center. Boise is also the home of Boise State University. If you are visiting the campus, you can find a handful of discount accommodations within a couple blocks of the university.

Boise Hotel Tips

Boise plays host to numerous festivals throughout the year. For instance, the Idaho Shakespeare Festival takes place annually with performances at the base of the Boise foothills. Each spring, Boise welcomes the Gene Harris Jazz Festival. The three-day celebration welcomes thousands of visitors from throughout the region. Each August,  the North End neighborhood hosts the Hyde Park Street Fair, a large music and cultural festival. These events, as well as college commencement, can cause hotel rooms to fill up fast during the months of May through September. If you plan on taking your trip to Boise at this time, search for hotel deals in advance.

Budget travelers will want to consider visiting the city in April or October. These shoulder months experience cool temperatures, ranging from the low 40s to the low 60s. This means visitors can still enjoy many of the great outdoor activities the city has to offer. Plus, you can frequently find low-priced Boise flights and hotel rooms during this off-season.
