What the FAA’s Partial Shutdown Means for Travelers
On Friday, Congress left for the week without reauthorizing the Federal Aviation Administration's budget, resulting in a partial shutdown. However, this will have little impact for travelers. The current funding was set to expire Friday night.
What this means for travelers:
- Airline ticket taxes will not be collected
- Although some FAA employees will go on furlough, this partial shutdown does not affect air traffic controllers
- Airport construction projects will be halted
