U.S. Food & Wine Fests at a Discount

Labor Day has come and gone, so too has the sizzle of the summer barbecue season. But while the backyard staples – the lawn chair; the grill chimney; the faded-red cooler – sit longingly in the garage, there are plenty of taste-bud-centric events on the Travelzoo calendar. In the coming weeks, Travelzoo’s Local Deals will highlight several food and wine festivals located across America. Check out these coast-to-coast gatherings that cater to both foodies and novices alike.

Albany: The second-annual Wine Festival at Bethel Woods features more than 20 regional wineries. Travelzoo subscribers can purchase an entry voucher for $7.50 -- half off the regular price.

Austin: Travelzoo subscribers can refine their pallets with unlimited samplings from 20 of the top chefs in Texas at the 23rd annual La Dolce Vita Fest. Admission is $125 and includes access to a member's lounge event or rooftop film event at the Jones Center.

Baltimore: This Local Deal offers Travelzoo subscribers the chance to graze on some of the Mid-Atlantic region’s top grub with tastings from more than 20 of Baltimore’s top chefs. For $99, gain entry and VIP admission to the 2012 Taste of the Nation Baltimore, including unlimited food and cocktail samplings.

Philadelphia: The Philly cheesesteak is the nation’s most icon sandwich. The CityEat's Third Annual Cheesesteak Challenge: High Steaks! Block Party, featuring some of the top chefs in the City of Brotherly Love, offers the chance to digest gourmet variations of the dish. For $17, regularly $25, Travelzoo subscribers are granted entry to the event at the Hotel Palomar in City Center.

A roster of celebrity chefs, including Ron Duprat of Bravo's "Top Chef" and Michael Giletto of "Iron Chef" -- headline the 2012 TASTE Philadelphia Festival of Food, Wine and Spirits. For $45 (regularly $90), two people can attend this exciting event.

San Diego: Navigate the numerous, diverse food options in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood with Bite San Diego's newest food walking tour. The three-hour eating expedition explores the neighborhood’s best restaurants. Travelzoo subscribers can enjoy the experience at rate discounted more than 51 percent ($22).

San Francisco: Drinks aren’t exactly on the house, but at 68% off regular prices, Travelzoo subscribers get quite the deal on 100 spirit varieties during the San Francisco Crafts Spirits Carnival. Gain entry to the event at Fort Mason Festival Pavilion for $40.50.
