On a recent trip to Orlando, my family visited the Bohemian Hotel Celebration after seeing it run in a past Top 20 newsletter. We selected the property because it was a 4-Diamond hotel near the theme parks that was available at the last minute. Not only that, but parking was complimentary and the resort fee was waived, adding to the savings.
At booking, we chose to upgrade, and when we arrived at the hotel, the front desk put us in a king studio. Traveling with a toddler, we appreciated the spaciousness of the room. The room had a mini-fridge, which was helpful for cooling the two complimentary bottles of water provided daily. It’s a small perk, but the water was nice to bring along to Disney (where bottled water is $2.50).
We were initially concerned about Celebration being three miles from the Disney main gate. Although this doesn’t seem terribly far, we thought that there could be a traffic jam when the park closed. As it turned out, this wasn’t a problem at all.
After the closing fireworks show on Saturday night, thousands of people simultaneously made their way to the exits. We walked for about 10 minutes from Main Street USA to the dock, where we waited another 15 minutes to board a ferry. The ferry ride to the parking lot took eight minutes, and we walked another five minutes to our car. The drive to the hotel couldn’t have been easier; from the time I put the car in drive until we turned onto Celebration Avenue, I never even tapped my brakes.
It’s nice to come back to the tranquility of Celebration after a long day at the theme parks. We had great meals at the Celebration Town Tavern and the Market Street Café, both of which are just a block away from the hotel. This was much more relaxing than dealing with the crowded restaurants on International Drive.
