Prague is a charming city dotted with enchanting architecture and lined with outdoor cafes. The streets are lined with cobble stones, squares are filled with entertainers and food carts serving local cuisine, and the sounds of beers clanking are heard throughout the night. With a favorable exchange rate it’s no surprise the city has Europeans and Americans flocking to it.
Easily one of the most iconic sights in the city is Prague Castle. Make sure to plan ahead if you are interested in visiting the gardens of Prague Castle. The gardens are seasonal and can be shut unexpectedly due to rain or snow showers.
The two best kept secrets in Prague are the Strahov Monastic Brewery and the Petrin funicular. Our tour guide mention a brewery which houses the elusive Sv. Norbert beer at the Strahov Monastery which is the only place one can find this beer brewed by local monks. Up the hill from the monastery lies a serene rose garden and overlook of the city. Ride down the hill on the Petrin funicular which is considered part of public transportation, so make sure to bring your tram pass.
Before leaving this city we took a last walk along Charles Bridge. According to tradition if you rub the John of Nepomuk statue you will return to Prague one day. See you next time Praha.
