San Francisco Picnic Spots
It’s summertime in the city, and the weather is finally heating up. Grab a few friends and your picnic basket, and head to some of the best spots in San Francisco.
- Soak up the sun in the Marina at Fort Mason. There is plenty of space on the lawn to set down your blanket and enjoy views of the water on a gorgeous San Francisco day.
- Designed and executed by William Hammond Hall and John McLaren, Golden Gate Park is more than 1,000 acres of public land. Eat by Stow Lake and then rent a rowboat or pedal boat from the boathouse.
- Dolores Park, in the Mission District, is a very vibrant scene filled with aspiring artists and entertainers. A foodie’s delight, this park is located next to local favorites, Tartine Bakery and Bi-Rite Market.
- In its 218 years of existence, The Presidio has served as an Army base for three different nations. Bring a towel and sit at Baker Beach or eat at the East Beach Picnic Area or the West Bluff Picnic area at Crissy Fields.
