Peak-Season Europe without Peak-Season Prices

Every time I turn on the TV nowadays, there seems to be constant chatter about the Eurozone. Euro this, euro that, euro euro euro. The perhaps unintended effect of all this talk is that I’m constantly thinking about Europe. How can I get there as soon as possible? What if this is the last time I’ll ever use a euro?

The common belief is that summer can be a very expensive time of year to hop hemispheres. Thankfully for me (and you), we’ve got an army of deal wranglers here that find great savings in any month.

With all the heat we’ve been having in New York recently, I’m dreaming of a trip to cool Scandinavia. We’ve got a whole page devoted to Oslo, Norway, and the great deals that can be found there through summer. Take this five-night journey that gives you a few days in the capital followed by a tour of the fjords. Then there’s the deal at this hotel, which puts you near the Akershus Fortress and Royal Palace.

Paris gets a lot of press for being notoriously beautiful in the springtime, but the city is pretty magnificent any time of year. The river Seine twists a glimmering path through the heart of the city, and these two hotels are only four blocks away. Arrive in style with this airfare sale from 4-star Air France.

Their planes stop in a bunch of other cities as well, including Madrid, where we have a deal at this new 4-star hotel that’s close to Paseo de la Castellana and the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Then rent a car to cruise the Spanish countryside, perhaps heading southeast to seaside Valencia, or the truly adventurous can trek through the mountainous northeast Catalan region, before arriving in Barcelona, where this stylish 5-star hotel looks right out at the Mediterranean.

Explore Scotland’s two largest cities with this tour of Glasgow and Edinburgh, where a charming historic district bumps up against the bright blue and green coast of the North Sea. Hop south on the island on this six-night tour of London and Bath. It includes stops at the historic Roman baths, and option to drive to Stonehenge.

With these deals saving as much as 50% on current rates, they are great ways to visit Europe during peak season while dodging the peak-season pricing.
