Orlando: Celebrate the Holiday Season at the Happiest Place on Earth

There is no better way to get into the holiday spirit than by taking a vacation to the happiest place on earth -- and saving 70% on accommodations and transportation to boot. Orlando comes alive during the holiday season, and with a wide variety of holiday shows and events, families will be entertained all vacation-long.

Here are some great shows and parades not to be missed:

  • SeaWorld has increased its holiday celebration this year by adding the Sea of Trees exhibit that features 74 holiday trees decorated with lights and choreographed to an orchestral soundtrack. The holiday festivities also include "Shamu Christmas – Miracles" and a "Winter Wonderland" on Ice skating show. Sea World Orlando offers a $5 admission for kids younger than 12 with the online purchase of a single-day adult admission through Dec. 31. Proceeds from each child ticket bought go to fund nonprofit organizations working on wildlife conservation projects. Or enjoy a dinner luau show there at for just $39.95 per person for adults and $26.95 for children. Tickets include a flower lei, tropical welcome drink and a delicious Polynesian dinner.
  • If you don’t have the time to travel across the country then Epcot’s World Showcase can bring the world to you. Holiday traditions, cultures and cultural legends are highlighted through storytelling, cuisine and music. Mickey’s Tree Lighting Treat occurs nightly in the World Showcase Plaza. The price of all shows is included in the general park admission fee.
  • Through Jan. 1 guests can experience one of the world’s most famous parades at Universal Studios featuring popular balloons seen at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
  • If pirates, sword fights and swashbuckling sound like an exciting evening, then check out the Pirates Dinner Adventure Show in Orlando for 50% off. Tickets are $29.97 (regularly $59.95) and include appetizer, a pirates feast, a pirate musical spectacular and a pirate Buccaneer Bash dance party.
