National Public Lands Day Held Saturday

Set some time aside this Saturday to plant a tree, clear a trail or clean a beach. As the largest single-day volunteer event in the country, the upcoming National Public Lands Day lets people easily search for a site to get involved.

More than 180,000 volunteers are planning to take part at parks, beaches and wildlife preserves to improve and restore the public lands. With thousands of activities in all 50 states on Sept. 24, check out some highlights from coast to coast.
