National Parks Week -- a nine-day celebration being held April 21-29 -- kicks off on Saturday, and potential visitors from across the country are being asked to "Picture Yourself in a National Park." This year’s programming, in addition to the mainstays of volunteer efforts and Earth Day events, features photo-worthy opportunities at many of America’s most iconic sights.
Entrance fees will be waived at all 397 national parks, and special events from bike tours to art shows will be hosted at the landmarks, historic sites and stretches of protected lands. Nationally, three special days will be held:
