Get out of the house and embrace the great outdoors in honor of National Get Outdoors Day this Saturday, June 9. More than 130 locations nationwide will be celebrating the program’s fifth year with non-traditional outdoor activities and tons of family fun.
From Potters Marsh in Anchorage, Alaska, to the Hurlburt Field Youth Center in Okaloosa County, Fla., participating locations will host free events to reconnect our youth to the ourdoors and encourage healthy living. Events include training on using a fishing pole, geocaching and lessons on pitching a tent, plus visits from Smokey Bear, Woodsy Owl and more.
And national parks will be waiving admission charges as well.
