Prices for Orlando hotels drop in the summer months, making it an affordable getaway at a time when kids are out of school. This year especially, there are heavily discounted rooms as well as new attractions to see in the city that’s home to both cartoon characters and roller coasters.
Deals at budget hotels can go as low as $39 per night, but even 4-star resorts are slashing nightly rates below $100. In addition to offering free theme park shuttles, hotels have been adding freebies such as breakfast and room upgrades this summer.
Snag one of the many deals near Universal and use the remaining money to buy tickets to Islands of Adventure, home of new The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Opened in June, this attraction -- with rides, shops and restaurants based on scenes in the beloved books -- has gained international attention.
Disney-area hotels and resorts also have cut rates to attract visitors. Official Walt Disney World hotels offer a range of perks including continuous park shuttles, preferred tee times at Disney championship golf courses and priority seating at theme park restaurants.
